Poland fur trade overview
Poland is one of Europe’s few remaining fur-producing and exporting countries, with a total of USD 54.8 million in raw fur exports recorded in 2024. Once a major fur producer, the Polish fur industry has experienced a significant decline in the past decade.
The majority of Poland’s exported pelts go to Finland and low-cost processing hubs like Cambodia. Poland also exports a small number of processed furs (USD 9.48 million) and fur garments (USD 7.47 million).
With widespread public and political support, Poland’s parliament has recently voted to ban fur farming, with the proposed law mandating that all fur farms must close by the end of 2033.
